SUST got the first female student advisor
Professor Amina Parveen of the Department of Social Work has been appointed as the new Student Advice and Guidance Director at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). She will hold the post until further notice. And through this, SUST is getting the first female student advice and guidance director.
The matter has been confirmed in a press release signed by the Registrar of the university Muhammad Ishfaqul Hossain on Sunday (February 6) evening.
However, the newly appointed Director of Student Advice and Guidance, Professor Amina Parveen, confirmed the media that she had received the letter and could not join that day. “I will go to the office tomorrow”, she commented.
Meanwhile, it has been said in the notification that Professor Zahir Uddin Ahmed of the Department of Economics has been relieved from the post of Director of Student Advice and Guidance due to his illness. At the same time, Professor Amina Parveen of the Department of Social Work has been assigned the post till further instructions.
She will get allowance and other benefits as per rules for performing her duties. This order will be effective from the date of her joining.
